Latece Buford

Latece Buford is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in event management and organizational support. Currently serving as an Officer 1 at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since August 2023, Latece previously held the position of Development Manager at The ALS Association, where responsibilities included recruiting and coaching volunteer-led event committees for various fundraising events. Latece has also worked as an Event Specialist and Education Technology Fellow at Curriculum Associates, managing event logistics and utilizing critical thinking for problem-solving. Earlier experience includes a role as a Social Media & Ecommerce Consultant at Chic Boutique, focusing on brand messaging and digital engagement, and an internship in Corporate Communications/Events at AARP, where Latece contributed to event content development. Latece holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations/Image Management from Iowa State University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Grand Canyon University.
