Kyla Hurns

Kyla Hurns is a Higher Education Policy Analyst at EdTrust since August 2024, with a strong background in leadership and advocacy within higher education. As Chief of Staff and Chair of the Undergraduate Black Caucus at The Ohio State University, Kyla led initiatives to enhance communication and collaboration among Black students and maintained relationships with university administration. Contributions include organizing recruitment processes, programming for community engagement, and conducting qualitative research on educational equity. Kyla participated in prestigious programs like the Management Leadership for Tomorrow Career Prep Fellowship and the Buckeye Leadership Fellows Program, and has held various roles such as a Summer Business Analyst at Kearney and a Google BOLD Immersion participant. Academic achievements include a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy with a specialization in Education Policy from The Ohio State University.
