David L. Leal

David L. Leal is a Professor of Government at The University of Texas at Austin, where David L. also serves as the Director of the Irma Rangel Public Policy Institute and the Founding Director of the Immigration Studies Initiative. Leal's academic career includes positions as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of Government at the same institution, and prior to that, an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University at Buffalo. Additionally, Leal has held fellowships at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and served as a Congressional Fellow with the American Political Science Association. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University.
