John Faulkner

John Faulkner has extensive experience in both public service and finance. As a member of the Liberal Democrats since 1972, John has served as a former borough councillor and campaign manager. At the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) from 1986 to 2019, John held the position of Senior Financial Administrator, managing insurance procurement for numerous educational institutions, and also served as Deputy Director of Finance, overseeing operational functions of the Finance Department. John contributed to community organizations as Secretary for both Sutton Green Village Hall and Sutton Green Association from 2008 to 2014, and as a Governor at Collingwood College from 1999 to 2011, focusing on financial and governance issues. Additionally, John was a Liberal Democrat councillor for Surrey Heath Borough Council from 1999 to 2007, where responsibilities included serving as the Liberal Democrat Group Finance spokesman, emphasizing value for money, audit, and corporate governance. John began a career in finance as an Accountant for the University of London from 1979 to 1986 and holds a CPFA degree from West London Institute of Higher Education.
