Black Hive Co-manager, Policy & Advocacy at The Movement for Black Lives

Mary Black is a dedicated environmental advocate with extensive experience in policy, advocacy, and community engagement. Currently serving as the Black Hive Co-Manager for Policy & Advocacy at The Movement for Black Lives, Mary also founded the Radical Futurist Lab, focusing on promoting equitable and transformative environmentalism. Previous roles include City Council Member for the City of Raleigh, Digital Media Strategist at People over Plastic, and various leadership positions in organizations like The Chisholm Legacy Project and Partners for Environmental Justice. Mary is an alumnus of the Youth Delegate Program by UNITE 2030 and has served as an Alumni Mentor at Women's Earth Alliance, emphasizing the cultivation of supportive learning environments. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Environmental Systems from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
