Mr. Havemeyer is president of Havemeyer Management Services, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in urban planning and downtown revitalization as well as nonprofit organizational management and governance. He currently serves as the part-time COO of the Skyscraper Museum in New York City and also chairs the board of the New York City Cultural Institutions Retirement System, a $1.63 billion pension fund. He recently completed 20 years as a trustee of Union Theological Seminary in New York City and was also a long-standing member of the board of the Brooklyn Museum. Mr. Havemeyer received The New School’s Distinguished Service Award in 1994 and served as interim director of the Parsons Paris program in 1995–1996.
Mr. Havemeyer’s long involvement with historic real estate restoration helped him lead The New School’s Buildings and Grounds Committee’s work on the Greenwich Village campus for many years. Mr. Havemeyer appreciates the university’s focus on urban and progressive issues.
