Helen Wolter

Helen Wolter is a skilled scientist with a focused background in marine research and environmental science. Currently serving as a Field & Lab Scientist and Plastic Lab Scientist at The Ocean Cleanup since November 2020, Helen has also contributed as a Deckhand and Assistant Scientist at Sea Education Association since November 2017. Previously, Helen gained valuable experience as a Trainee in Marine Microbiology and Biogeochemistry at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, where the research project centered on chemical changes to marine microplastics. Helen holds a Master of Science in Energy and Environmental Science from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Newcastle University.
