Neal McDonald

Neal McDonald serves as the Director of Academic Services at The Odyssey Preparatory Academy Inc. since November 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Manager and Effectiveness Coach for ELL Academics at TNTP from July 2018 to November 2021, and an Adjunct instructor teaching ESL Methods & Materials at Vanderbilt Peabody College for a brief period in 2018. From 2014 to 2018, McDonald worked as a Literacy Teacher Development Specialist at Metro Nashville Public Schools. Previous experience includes serving as Bilingual Team Lead at Boston Public Schools and T3 Teacher Leader at Teach Plus, both from June 2011 to June 2014. Additional roles include ESL Instructor at Round Rock ISD and Texas Teaching Fellow at TNTP. McDonald holds a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning in Urban Schools from Vanderbilt University (2014-2016) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Middle Tennessee State University.
