Sonja Chen

Sonja Chen is an accomplished pathologist with extensive experience in pediatric pathology and medical education. Current roles include Associate Director of the Pediatric Pathology Fellowship and Director of Pediatric Autopsy at Nationwide Children's Hospital since September 2021. Previously, Sonja served as Director of the Applied Pathology Rotation at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University from November 2019 to September 2021, and held various positions at Rhode Island Hospital, including Director of Pediatric Pathology and Attending Pathologist. Additionally, Sonja was an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Brown Medical School and completed a Pediatric Pathology Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital. Early training included specialized and residency programs at prestigious institutions such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the University of the West Indies, where a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) was earned.
