Liesbet Steer

Liesbet Steer is a highly experienced professional in global education and development financing, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at The Rockefeller Foundation and Systemiq Ltd., and as Chair of the ODI Global North America Board at ODI. With a strong background in leadership roles, Liesbet has contributed to establishing innovative philanthropic models at Greater Share and led significant organizational transformations as President & CEO of EDC. As a co-founder and inaugural board member of the International Finance Facility for Education, Liesbet played a pivotal role in developing financing strategies for educational initiatives. Prior experience includes serving as Executive Director of The Education Commission and a Fellow at The Brookings Institution, where Liesbet focused on financing education and producing influential reports. Liesbet holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics and has advanced studies in Economics and Quantitative Economics.
