Amy Lestition Burke

Amy Lestition Burke, MA, FASAE, CAE, serves as the Executive Director/CEO of The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) since November 2023, bringing extensive experience in association leadership and industry solutions. Previously, Burke held the position of Vice President of Industry Solutions at the Consumer Brands Association, focusing on marketplace solutions in packaging sustainability and supply chain management. Notably, Burke led transformative initiatives as Executive Director at SLA, enhancing governance and Board performance, and as Chief Operating Officer at the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, launching programs that significantly increased education attendance and revenue. Additional roles include serving as Senior Vice President at MCI USA, where oversight of client relationships occurred, and as an Associate Professor at Northern Virginia Community College, where Burke taught non-profit and association management. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
