Romana S Mughal

Romana S Mughal is a seasoned academic and consultant with extensive experience in physiology, particularly in the fields of cardiovascular and diabetes research. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Physiology (Optometry) at The University of Huddersfield since July 2019, Romana also holds the position of International Postgraduate Training Consultant at BioInspire training & consulting and serves as Chair of the Board of Directors at Health-Point Foundation. Previous roles include Research Fellow and Module Lead for the International PhD Academy at the University of Leeds, alongside postdoctoral positions at Novo Nordisk A/S and the University of Leeds. Romana holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc (Hons) in Cardiovascular Medicine and Physiology from the University of Leeds, accumulating over a decade of expertise in cell biology, assay design, and the interactions between critical growth hormones such as insulin and insulin-like growth factor-1.
