Steve Turner

Steve Turner is an experienced professional in urban innovation and sustainability, currently serving as a Board Member of the Manchester Urban Institute and Director at both the UK Cities Climate Investment Commission and Connected Places Catapult. With a background in digital cities, Turner held the role of Digital Cities Lead at Arup, where significant investments were made towards integrating digital technologies in major developments. Turner previously led future city initiatives at Manchester City Council, securing substantial funding for projects like CityVerve and Triangulum, and has extensive experience in low carbon economy initiatives. Turner began a career in sustainable development, contributing to various major regeneration projects and environmental strategies across multiple organizations. Turner holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from The University of Sheffield.
