Yilma Kebede

Yilma Kebede is an experienced independent consultant at The University of Queensland since November 2016, with a robust background in agricultural research and program management. Prior roles include serving as a Senior Research Fellow at ICRISAT from April 2017 to March 2020, and a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation between 2008 and 2016. Yilma Kebede began a career as a Research Coordinator/Scientist at DuPont Pioneer, working from 1992 to 2008, focusing on coordinating sorghum research across the US, Mexico, India, and Australia. Yilma Kebede holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Crop Physiology from the University of Guelph.
