Nikola Lero

Nikola Lero is a researcher at Sheffield Hallam University, focusing on the "Vulnerable Mothers: Cultural Awareness and the Politics of Child Removal" project, while concurrently pursuing a PhD in Migration Studies at the University of Sheffield, examining the concepts of 'making home' and 'everyday bordering'. Lero serves as a UNESCO Youth Champion for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, engaging in initiatives against online hate speech, and previously held the role of Fulbright Visiting Researcher at Saint Louis University, investigating hybrid identities of second-generation Americans. Additional experience includes editing at Omladinski Magazin Karike, leadership in the Humanity in Action Senior Fellow Network, and participation in the OSCE Youth Advisory Group, focusing on countering radicalization and promoting human rights. Lero has conducted research on internal displacement and migrant entrepreneurship, holding multiple degrees, including an MA in Cultural Anthropology and ongoing studies in sociology and anthropology.
