Carly Michelakis is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin's Health Behavior Research Institute since August 2023, while also serving as a Teaching Assistant. Prior experience includes roles as a Clinical Social Work Intern at the Sobering Center Austin, Reproductive Health Assistant at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, Inc., and 200-Hour Trauma-Informed Registered Yoga Teacher at Waking Yoga. Carly also worked as an Advocacy Associate at NC Rural Center and as an AmeriCorps Food Distribution Associate at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Earlier in the career, Carly served as a Funding Coordinator at Continence New Zealand, a Research Assistant for Project IFE at UNC Cecil G. Sheps Center, Co-President of GlobeMed, and a Teaching Fellow in English and Language Arts at Breakthrough Collaborative. Carly holds a Master's degree in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies and Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
