Alan Werchan

Alan Werchan is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in budgeting and financial management within the higher education sector. Currently serving as a Special Advisor at The University of Texas System since March 2023, Alan provides expertise in business, budgeting, accounting, and legislative appropriations, particularly regarding the integration of Stephen F. Austin State University into the UT System. From June 1994 to January 2023, Alan held various positions at the UT System, including Budget Director, where responsibilities encompassed consolidating the annual operating budget and supporting 14 UT institutions in their financial operations and legislative requests. Prior to that, Alan was a Senior Associate at Maxwell Locke & Ritter, specializing in audit planning and execution. Alan holds both an MPA and a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
