Jan Heck

Jan Heck currently holds a JSPS Research Fellowship at The University of Tokyo, working with Prof. Sadao Ota at the RCAST institute since November 2023. Previously, Jan served as a NanoDTC Technical Associate at the University of Cambridge, supervising equipment use and training new researchers in Confocal Microscopy. As an Associate Student Investment Partner with the Creator Fund, Jan evaluated university startups and informed investment decisions. Jan participated in the Cambridge Judge Business School's Enterprise TECH programme, receiving a full scholarship for skills in commercializing emerging research. Teaching experience includes supervising undergraduate laboratory practical classes at The Cavendish Laboratory and interviewing prospective students in Economics at Christ's College Cambridge. Jan completed the MedTech Foundation Innovation Programme, leading the ideation of a novel medical device. With an extensive academic background, Jan earned a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge and holds multiple degrees in Physics and Japanese Language and History of Science from prestigious institutions.
