Shuyu Guo

Shuyu (Vera) Guo is a data scientist at The Voleon Group, with previous experience as a machine learning researcher at the MIT Device Realization Lab, where deep learning models for human activity classification were developed. During an MIT capstone project, collaboration with Sekisui House focused on wellness monitoring solutions for the elderly. Prior roles include serving as a member of the MIT Analytics Lab, where statistical methods were applied to marketing channel analysis, and working as a senior actuarial analyst at Aon, utilizing statistical modeling and Monte Carlo simulations for commercial insurance efficiency evaluations. Shuyu (Vera) Guo has also interned at MetLife and AXIS Capital and worked as an undergraduate researcher at the Illinois Risk Lab. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Analytics in Data Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics with an emphasis on Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
