Chamiza Pacheco de Alas

Chamiza Pacheco de Alas is an accomplished legal and administrative professional with extensive experience in health sciences and community engagement. Currently serving as the Director of New Mexico Programs at W.K. Kellogg Foundation since February 2021, Chamiza previously held several key roles at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, including Chief of Staff and Executive Project Director. Chamiza's legal expertise includes serving as Associate University Counsel for the Health Sciences Center and as an attorney at Modrall Sperling and New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty. Additionally, Chamiza has contributed to academia as an adjunct lecturer and visiting lecturer, while also directing significant fundraising and community outreach initiatives at United Way of Central New Mexico. Chamiza holds a Doctor of Law degree from Yale Law School and a BA in Political Science and Economics from The University of New Mexico.
