Wendin D. Smith

Wendin D. Smith ’89 serves as a senior official at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Her career includes roles in the public and private sectors, including most recently as managing director with Deloitte Consulting, senior advisor to the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for countering weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

A graduate of Dartmouth College, she received her Ph.D. and M.A. in law and diplomacy from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Wendin is a consultant and lecturer in countering WMD, national security, strategic stability, Russian, environmental security, and related fields. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family and daughter (Class of 2033?!), contributing to her community, as well as athletic endeavors such as rowing, Nordic skiing, and just about anything in or on the water.
