Huachao Huang

Huachao Huang, Ph.D., currently serves as a Staff Scientist (Principal Scientist) at Thermo Fisher Scientific since October 2024. Previously, Huachao held the position of Senior Scientist at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. from July 2022 to September 2024, where significant contributions included leading a species-agnostic approach for screening AAV capsid variants, generating complex plasmid and virus libraries, and optimizing vector designs for improved properties. Prior to this role, Huachao was an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center from May 2018 to June 2022, managing federal grants and leading projects on virus-host interactions and immune responses. Huachao obtained a Ph.D. in Virology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
