Denise Kerins is currently Head of Business Response with Scottish Enterprise. Scottish Enterprise is Scotland’s main economic development agency and aims to deliver a significant, lasting effect on the Scottish economy by identifying and exploiting the best opportunities for economic growth. SE does this by supporting Scottish companies to compete, helping to build globally competitive sectors, attracting new investment and creating a world-class business environment. Denise joined Scottish Enterprise in 1991 and, as an economic development professional, her career has spanned a range of areas across SE’s business functions, including Human Resource Development, Skills & Learning, Organisational & Business Development and Investment. Denise has also had responsibility for reviewing major high risk and high value SE business cases, providing assurance to key decision makers across the organisation. Denise has recently been appointed Head of Business Response. This is a new specialist unit set up within SE to respond to potential economic shocks and support the resilience of companies to avoid negative impacts on the economy. Denise is a Strathclyde University MBA graduate.
