Karen Moncrieff

Karen is the Director of HR at Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Throughout her professional career spanning over 30 years, Karen has worked in the field of Human Resources and Learning and Development. Karen is currently a member of the Executive Leadership Team for Highland and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and is responsible for all aspects of HIE’s human resource management function including, resourcing, leadership, learning and development.

Established over 50 years ago to transform the region as one where increasing numbers of people choose to live, work, study and invest. The strengths of HIE’s corporate culture is evidenced by a committed workforce, passionate about making a difference.

Karen is a Fellow of the CIPD and has worked for HIE since 1997. Prior to joining HIE, Karen worked in variety of HR and training roles within the banking and insurance industry.

HIE has twice featured in the Sunday Times Best companies listing and has been recognised as a top employer for working families, carers and for developing the young workforce. Most recently HIE was recognised as Best Public-Sector Employer in the Working Families UK Best Practice Awards.
