Sergey Matveev

Sergey Matveev is an experienced Application Specialist at Thorlabs, providing technical and scientific assistance for laser scanning microscopy instruments since March 2021, including pre- and post-sales support and user training. Prior to this role, Sergey served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, managing a laser lab, mentoring students, and leading research projects on polymer structure-property relationships. Sergey also held positions at Bowling Green State University as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant, focusing on laser spectroscopy and general chemistry education, and worked as a Chemistry Engineer at Russian Standard Vodka, handling analytical equipment and conducting chemical testing. Sergey holds a PhD in Photochemistry and Photophysics from Bowling Green State University, along with a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Saint Petersburg State University.
