Kelly Peterson

Kelly Peterson is an experienced urban planner currently serving as the Mid-Atlantic Planning Manager at Toole Design Group since May 2023. Previously, Kelly held the position of Director of Community Development for the City of Portage, Michigan, overseeing a department focused on planning, zoning, and development while successfully expanding the team. Other notable roles include Planning Director at InterAgency Inc., where Kelly led a $10M Smart City Challenge, Senior Planner at Arup managing multidisciplinary teams on various economic and mobility projects, and Community Planner at the District Department of Transportation, where impactful citywide initiatives were executed. Kelly's earlier experience includes roles in Philadelphia's city planning and transportation management in D.C., complemented by a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Beloit College.
