Gonzalo Martinez

Gonzalo Martinez is a seasoned geneticist with extensive experience in animal breeding and genetics. Currently serving as a Global Geneticist Specialist at Topigs Norsvin since January 2025, Gonzalo previously held the role of Breeding Program Manager at Topigs Norsvin USA from October 2022 to January 2025. Prior to this, Gonzalo worked at Choice Genetics from February 2016 to October 2022 as a Genetic Coordinator and Research Scientist with a focus on Latin America. Gonzalo's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, as well as a Master's degree in Animal Production and an Agricultural Engineering degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela. Gonzalo has also contributed significantly to research and education throughout a long tenure at Universidad Central de Venezuela, including roles as Director of the Animal Production Institute and Coordinator of the Animal Production Graduate Program.
