Bert Bruggeman is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various industries. Currently, Bruggeman serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at The Ocean Cleanup, focusing on innovative technologies to eliminate plastic from oceans and rivers. As Chief Commercial Officer at Torramics Inc., Bruggeman is pioneering advancements in drug delivery using nanoscale pumps. Bruggeman is also the Founder of GEFIRA Solutions, which facilitates innovation and commercialization of disruptive ideas. Past positions include Chief Executive Officer of Biomason, where Bruggeman led efforts for sustainable construction, and Chief Operating Officer at Tesla, driving sustainable energy transitions. Bruggeman’s educational background includes a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KU Leuven, supplemented by professional studies at Brown University School of Professional Studies.
