Role

As an Android Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and success of our mobile applications. You will be responsible for turning product ideas into functional and efficient code while ensuring that the end-user experience is seamless and intuitive. You will also work closely with other product team members, including designers and product managers, to develop new features and improvements. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and stability of our applications, and providing technical support to our clients as needed. As an integral team member, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of our products and shape the future of Toters.

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining Android applications. The Android Engineer will work closely with our product team to design and implement new features and enhancements and ensure that our applications are highly functional, stable, and performant. In this role you will:

  • Design and build advanced, scalable applications written in Kotlin, Java and Kotlin Multiplatform.

  • Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and use cases and translate them into pragmatic and effective technical solutions.

  • Integrate with our backend services to make sure we are delivering a great
    mobile user experience that is super-fast for end users.

  • Own end-to-end product modules and features from requirements to going live.

  • Design and review code, troubleshoot and act as a consultant to your peers on technical matters.

  • Gather requirements by interacting directly with the end-users and advocate delightful user experiences.

  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.

  • Participate in team agile and engineering practices and lead their continuous evolution.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of Android application development with extensive use of Kotlin Multi Platform and well-known DI frameworks.
  • Experience building well architected applications that follow well established design patterns independently and without supervision.
  • Good understanding of the full mobile development life cycle. Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of interactive application development paradigm under Android, memory management, file I/O, network programming, concurrency and multithreading and publishing Android apps in the Play Store.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with app analytics and crash reporting tools such as Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.

  • Reactive programming (RxJava, RxKotlin, Flows, etc.) experience is a big plus.

  • Experience in Navigation based applications is a big plus.

  • Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
