Hongkai Dai

Hongkai Dai is a Staff Research Scientist at Toyota Research Institute, a position held since July 2016, with previous roles as Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist within the same organization. Prior to this, Hongkai served as a Teaching Assistant for the course 6.832, Underactuated Robotics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in early 2011. Educationally, Hongkai obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from MIT in 2016, following a Master of Science in the same field from MIT in 2012. Undergraduate studies were completed at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where a Bachelor in Electronic and Computer Engineering was earned in 2010, complemented by an exchange program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2009.
