Michael C Heaney is an American businessman who currently serves as an Independent Non-executive Director at TP ICAP. Prior to this, they served as the Chairman of the Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from November 2017 to May 2021. From August 2016 to August 2019, Heaney was a Member of the Board of Directors at Legal & General Investment Management America. Michael was also Global Co-Head of Fixed Income Sales and Trading Division at Morgan Stanley from January 1998 to December 2016.
Heaney has extensive experience in working with regulatory bodies and has played a pivotal role in shaping the fixed income market structure. Michael is a well-known speaker on topics ranging from regulatory impact on market liquidity, fixed income market structure, and asset manager growth in AUM vs bank balance sheet contraction. Under their leadership, the “OneFID” global initiative was launched which created ongoing workshops for analyst and associate training, diversity mentoring, team building, employee mobility, and management training.
Michael C Heaney attended Lafayette College where they earned their Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Michael then went on to earn their Executive MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business.
