Trystan Reese is the current Secretary at Transgender Law Center. They have also worked as the Director of Family Formation at Family Equality, where they built the brand-new Family Formation program from scratch. In this role, Trystan researched barriers to family-building for the LGBTQ+ community and created evidence-based programs to increase family-building access for the full breadth of the LGBTQ+ community.
Trystan also oversaw the vision, creation, and management of the Open Door Professional Training Program, an online training ecosystem for family-building professionals. Over 1,800 learners have completed at least one module on the platform. In addition, Trystan managed over a dozen in-person educational events each year in partnership with fertility giants such as California Cryobank, KindBody, and ACRM.
Finally, Trystan researched and wrote cutting-edge family-building resources that are currently hosted on www.familyequality.org, including Trans Paths2Parenthood, Non-Binary Pregnancy, Trans Women and Fertility, and Supporting Bi+ Parents.
Trystan Reese is an LGBTQ rights activist and writer. They have a vocational certificate in performing arts from the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and they are currently a 2021 Emerging LGBTQ Voices Fellowship with Lambda Literary. They are also a professional anti-racism facilitator trainer with the Social Justice Training Institute, and they have certification in project management skills for leaders, unconscious bias, and supporting allyship and anti-racism at work from LinkedIn. In addition, they have a certification in foundations in somatic abolitionism from Education for Racial Equity.
