Omar Elbetanony

Omar Elbetanony, M.S., is an experienced associate scientist currently working at 2seventy bio since November 2021, following the company's formation from bluebird bio, where Omar held the position of Associate Scientist II from March 2020 to November 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Associate at Farcast Biosciences from November 2018 to December 2019 and a volunteer Anesthesia Technician Assistant at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in the summer of 2017. Omar's journey began with a summer internship at TransMedics, Inc. in 2015. Omar holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Northeastern University (2020-2023) and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2014-2018).
