Johan de la Rey

Johan de la Rey has extensive experience in capital assurance and risk management, currently serving as the General Manager of Capital Assurance at Transnet SOC Ltd since April 2020. Prior to this role, Johan held positions at Aurecon as Chief Consultant and Independent Risk and Assurance Consultant. A significant tenure at KPMG Advisory included roles as Business Owner and Director of Major Project Assurance, focusing on Enterprise Risk Management and Corporate Governance. Johan's experience also encompasses Senior Internal Audit Manager at Eskom, where governance services were provided across various sectors, and early career roles as an Accountant at Myer & Galasko Group and as an Articled Clerk at Deloitte. Educational qualifications include a BCom in Accounting & Auditing from the University of Pretoria and participation in the Eskom Management Development Programme from UNISA.
