Richard W. Mott

Mr. Mott is currently Principal of Walkabout Consulting LLC, a management consulting and private equity firm, as well as Director/Owner of VFD Technologies. He currently consults for Warburg Pincus as an Executive in Residence, and Bio2 Technologies. In addition, he served as President, CEO and Director of Kyphon Inc., a NASDAQ-listed global medical device company through its acquisition by Medtronic, Inc. in late 2007. Prior to Kyphon, he was Chief Operating Officer at Wilson Greatbatch Technologies, Inc. and had executive operating roles within the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. Current Board positions include Executive Chairman of MicroCHIPS, Inc., Chairman of Silk Road Medical, and Board member of Relievant Medsystems. Additionally, he is the previous recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Frost & Sullivan Technology Leadership of the Year Award, and the Phoenix Lifetime Achievement Award. He holds a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, and is a Graduate of Harvard University's Advanced Management Program.
