Andrew Carter Smith

Andrew Carter Smith has extensive experience in outdoor education and climbing coaching, currently serving as Head Coach at Triangle Rock Club and Vertical Performance Coaching since May and January 2022, respectively. Since 2016, Andrew has worked as a Climbing Specialist and Logistics Manager at North Carolina Outward Bound School. Previous roles include Board Member for the Carolina Climbers Coalition (2018-2023), Program Coordinator, ORM Risk Manager, and Adjunct Lecturer at Lees-McRae College (2018-April 2022), and various coaching and management positions at Center 45 Climbing & Fitness (2017-April 2022) and Mountain Alliance (March 2015-April 2022). Andrew holds a Master of Science in Experiential and Outdoor Education from Western Carolina University and two undergraduate degrees from Appalachian State University in Recreation Management and Spanish Literature.
