João Chambel

João Chambel is the current Commercial Sales at Tropical Marine Centre. João has over 10 years of experience in the aquaculture industry, having worked in both Portugal and England.

Chambel started their career as an Aquaculture Researcher at the Polytechnic of Leiria in 2009. There, they worked on developing protocols for the maintenance of ornamental species and authored several research papers. In 2015, they left academia to join AQUASPROSea as their Managing Director. AQUASPROSea was a Portuguese company dedicated to the production of ornamental species of salted water. Under João's leadership, the company flourished and became one of the leading suppliers of marine ornamental species in Portugal.

In 2018, João decided to move to England to join Tropical Marine Centre as their Commercial Sales. In this role, they are responsible for managing the sales and marketing team as well as developing new business opportunities. João's extensive knowledge and experience in the aquaculture industry has made him a valuable asset to the company.

João Chambel began their educational career by obtaining a Master's degree in Aquaculture from Polytechnic of Leiria. João then went on to complete a PhD in Biology, General from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.
