Bridgit Nelson

Bridgit Nelson currently serves as the Director of Communications for the Command and Control (C3) Portfolio at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a role initiated in August 2022. Prior to this, Bridgit held the position of Portfolio Manager and Program Director at the Department of Defense/DISA from September 2020 to August 2022, where responsibilities included strategic engagement with executive leadership and managing a $1.6B global enterprise system. From September 2019 to September 2020, Bridgit was the Director of External Affairs at the OSD, DOD CIO, facilitating collaboration amongst various stakeholders. Bridgit's extensive experience at DISA from June 2000 to September 2019 as Senior Program Manager included strategic sourcing agreements that optimized IT contract costs and cloud readiness. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Science in Government Information Management from George Mason University and National Defense University, respectively, along with several certifications in program management.
