Kate Konschnik

Kate Konschnik currently serves as the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division at the U.S. Department of Justice since February 2022. Prior to this role, Kate was the Director at Duke University from December 2017 to December 2021 and held multiple positions at Harvard Law School, including Executive Director and Policy Director of the Environmental Law Program from August 2012 to November 2017. Kate also served as Chief Environmental Counsel for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse from June 2009 to July 2012 and worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as a Trial Attorney and Special Assistant United States Attorney from September 2002 to June 2009. Earlier experience includes environmental law clerkships at Earthjustice and the Northern Mariana Islands Attorney General's Office. Kate Konschnik holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tufts University.
