Tom Lorenz

Tom Lorenz is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in energy analysis and project management. Currently serving as Project Manager and Lead Survey Statistician for the U.S. Energy Information Administration since March 2002, Lorenz leads the Manufacturing Energy Consumption Survey, managing data collection from approximately 15,000 manufacturing establishments. Previous roles include Energy Analyst at Hess Corporation, where responsibilities involved energy supply chain balancing for various clients, and at Pace Global Energy Services, managing energy supply and demand for large clients. Earlier experience includes serving as Lead Chemical Engineer at Ecomat, Inc., focused on innovative material development, and as a Lithographic Systems Operator at IBM, overseeing semiconductor fabrication processes. Lorenz holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences from Castleton State College.
