Deepesh Thomas

Deepesh Thomas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the financial and insurance sectors. Currently serving as Regional General Manager for Uber's mobility business in Sub-Saharan Africa since December 2024, Deepesh previously held various executive roles at Standard Bank Group from April 2019 to December 2024, including responsibilities for transforming short-term insurance businesses, leading technology initiatives, and executing digital strategies. Deepesh also served as Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Short-Term Centre of Excellence and held several managerial positions at Deloitte South Africa. Deepesh's educational credentials include an MBA from the University of Cape Town and CA(SA) certification, complemented by degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Pretoria and the University of South Africa.
