James William Smith

James William Smith is an accomplished financial services professional with extensive experience in operational risk management and strategic transformation. Currently serving as Executive Director and Head of Middle Office for Americas Global Markets Derivatives & Solutions at UBS since November 2004, James is responsible for real-time operational risk management. Previous roles at UBS include Executive Director overseeing FX, Rates, Global Credit, and Group Treasury, where James managed middle office functions for secondary trading businesses and enhanced client experience. Prior to UBS, James worked at JP Morgan as an Analyst in the Credit Hybrids Middle Office. James holds a BSc (HONS) in Computer Science from Solent University and completed the Securities Industry Institute program at The Wharton School.
