Francisca Vasconcelos

Francisca Vasconcelos is a prominent academic and educator in the field of quantum computing, currently serving as the Founding Academic Director and Year-Long Course Lead Instructor at The Coding School since May 2018. Francisca has developed and delivered a virtual "Intro to Quantum Computing" course that reached over 8,000 high school students globally, with a significant focus on inclusivity for underrepresented backgrounds. Additional roles include Head of Quantum Computing Curriculum Development at the University of California, Berkeley, and significant research experiences at the University of Oxford, Microsoft, and MIT. Francisca holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor’s Degree from MIT and a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley, enriching knowledge and advancing curriculum development in quantum computing and its applications.
