Andrew Portell is a dedicated researcher with extensive experience in bioengineering and biomedical research. Currently serving as a Graduate Student in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California San Diego since September 2019, Andrew has also held a position as a Research Associate at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since June 2017 and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Christ Lab at UVA's Department of Biomedical Engineering since November 2014. Previous internships include contributions to MedImmune's adoptive cell therapy initiatives, product characterization at Contraline, LLC, and research at Tuckahoe Orthopaedics, focusing on pediatric studies. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2017, further enhancing skills in histology, cell culture, and tissue engineering.
