John Decarvalho

John Decarvalho is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in government and external affairs. Currently serving as Vice President of Government and External Affairs at Union Community Health Center since September 2021 and as an Executive Board Member at Terra Firma National, John focuses on addressing the needs of unaccompanied immigrant children and asylum-seeking families. Prior roles include Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy and Director of Advocacy and Policy Communications at Children's Health Fund, where strategic planning, legislative priorities, and relationship building with Congressional members were key responsibilities. Earlier experiences include various positions in policy and advocacy at The Advance Group and a campaign coordinator role for New Yorkers For Robert Jackson. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, along with a minor in Legal Studies from the University of Delaware and has participated in a student exchange program at the School of Law at USP - Universidade de São Paulo.
