Kentaro Toyama is a Professor at the University of Michigan since September 2014. Notable prior experience includes participation in NAKFI in 2015, serving as a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley from January 2010 to June 2014, and working as a Consultant for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from May 2011 to August 2012. Additional roles include volunteering as a TechStart Teacher at the Technology Access Foundation and co-founding Microsoft Research India, where Toyama served as Assistant Managing Director from November 1997 to December 2009. Toyama's academic involvement also featured a lecturer position at Ashesi University in late 2002. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from Yale University and an AB in Physics from Harvard University.
