Janika Laht is a seasoned climate policy expert with extensive experience in environmental affairs and sustainability. Currently serving as a Climate Policy Expert at UN Climate Change and an Early Stage Researcher at TalTech Research Group of Smart District Heating Systems, Janika specializes in life-cycle assessment and greenhouse gas emission calculations. Previous roles include Chief Decarbonisation Officer at KWOTA, Counsellor for Environmental Affairs at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU, and Adviser in the Climate Department at the Ministry of the Environment of Estonia. Janika's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from TalTech, alongside Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tartu.
