Edward Wageni

Edward Wageni is an accomplished professional in international development and gender equality, currently serving as a Programme Specialist for Africa at UN Women and as the Global Head of the HeForEdward Initiative. Previously, Edward held leadership roles at Save the Children International as the Director of the SNaP Consortium, at Christian Aid as the Head of Programme, and at Plan International as the Gender Equality Advisor for the Eastern and Southern Africa region. Edward also contributed to the Green Belt Movement as Deputy Executive Director in Charge of Programmes and served as Acting Executive Director. Edward holds an MSc in Development Practice from Oxford Brookes University and a Higher National Diploma in International Humanitarian Studies from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
