Luisa Cabal currently serves as the Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNAIDS, where roles have included Chief Human Rights and Gender, as well as Director a.i. for Gender Equality, Human Rights and Community Engagement since January 2015. Between August 2016 and January 2022, Luisa was a Lecturer at the Swiss School of Public Health Plus, focusing on human rights law and health. From September 2011 to May 2019, Luisa contributed as a Lecturer-in-Law at Columbia University in the City of New York. Previous roles include Board Member for the International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region and Vice President of Programs, Director of the Global Legal Program, and Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Center for Reproductive Rights, where Luisa led legal and human rights initiatives. Luisa holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Columbia Law School and a Law Degree from Universidad de Los Andes.
