Elsie Mufuka

Elsie Mufuka is an accomplished dance educator and leader in the arts community, currently serving as an Adjunct Professor and Supervisor of Dance Educator Students at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since December 2023. With extensive experience as the Founder and Director of MufukaWorks Dance Co. since March 2010, Elsie utilizes dance to convey human stories through a comprehensive dance education and performance program. Additionally, Elsie has been a Dance Educator with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools since August 2020 and previously taught at Charlotte Ballet from January 2014 to August 2024, specializing in Afro Russe Dance and Jazz. Prior roles include teaching positions at Union County Public Schools and a marketing assistant role with Ntosana Contemporary Dance Theater, where Elsie contributed to audience development and programming for at-risk youth. Elsie holds a Master's degree in Arts Administration from Winthrop University and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communications and Dance from Coker University.
